Benelux Declares War On Chiraq, Stresses It Is “Not A Call For Conquest” But Is A Call To Join Its Discord

Lythetica, Benelux—Ending weeks of tension over a farm, the nation of Benelux on Thursday formally entered the war against Chiraq, releasing a declaration that officials described as “measured,” “serious” and “roughly the length of a short novel.”
The dispute began on 6 October, when Benelux discovered Chiraqi bastions and farm infrastructure extending into its territory in Lythetica. According to the declaration, Benelux tried talking, considered a negotiated settlement and made it clear it would like its borders respected. Chiraq’s response, the declaration says, was that Benelux would not be allowed to keep its territory.
“We tried everything,” said a Benelux official. “We had discussions. We had a group chat. Then we had a different group chat, with a mediator. Then the mediator encouraged us to negotiate in the first group chat. At some point you have to ask what all these group chats are for.”
Tensions peaked on 14 October, when a Chiraqi operative began placing obsidian-encased snitches along what he believed to be the border. Benelux disputes his definition of the border. Chiraq disputes Benelux’s definition of a farm. Cartographers say the two definitions overlap by several blocks of wheat.
When Nara sent a task force to calm things down, witnesses say much of Chiraq logged on at once and chased everyone through Lythetica and into Whiskia’s Kitsunekawa. “It was the most united I have ever seen the region,” said one resident. “We were all running in the same direction.”
The declaration notes that construction of the farms continued during negotiations, despite requests to stop from several parties. Agricultural experts confirmed this is typical of farms. “Wheat does not respect diplomacy,” said one farmer. “It grows when it grows. Usually toward the border.”
Benelux stressed that entering the war is “not a call for conquest” but a defence of its homeland and of the wider Southern Arctic Shelf. The final paragraph of the declaration then invites anyone interested to join the Benelux or Nara Discord servers, or to DM any member of either leadership.
“It is not a call for conquest,” a spokesperson repeated. “It is a call for recruits. Those are very different things. One is aggressive, and the other has a sign-up link.”
At press time, the disputed farm had produced another full harvest.
