Nara, Alenarith—After weeks of careful internal debate, the nation of Nara announced Thursday that it was ending its ceasefire with Chiraq, declaring war on Aspasia and formally joining the coalition, in a statement that closed with the words “The time for debate is over, the time to ball has arrived.”

The ceasefire had held since a tense standoff near Nara’s portal earlier this month, during which both sides stopped fighting to consider their options. Nara says it has now considered them.

“We talked about it internally for a long time,” said a Naran official. “We discussed peace. We discussed stability. We discussed CivMC as a whole. And at the end of all that discussion, the consensus was: ball.”

Military analysts across the server spent much of Friday trying to establish what “balling” means in an operational sense. “It isn’t in any of the doctrine,” said one. “We have skybridges, we have vault spikes, we have pot bunkers. There is no balling stage. It may be new.”

Some analysts believe the term describes an all-out offensive. Others believe it describes a state of mind. A third group believes it refers to an actual ball and has begun preparing defences accordingly.

The statement also thanks the many nations that supported Nara “without question or reservation” during the standoff, and says Nara now intends to return that support. Allies welcomed the news but asked whether returning support also involves balling.

In Aspasia, officials said they had received the declaration of war and were “taking it very seriously,” then asked whether anyone had a definition.

At press time, Naran forces had been spotted assembling near the portal, and appeared to be balling.
