Exegol Installs Revolving Door In Council Chamber To Save Time

Exodus, Exegol—Following six council departures in four months, the Grand Republic of Exegol announced Thursday that it had installed a revolving door in the round council chamber at the centre of its capital “to save everyone time.”
“We had four resignations, an impeachment and a removal, and the old door simply wasn’t built for that kind of traffic,” said a council aide. “There was a queue. People were resigning and having to wait outside to leave. That’s not good governance.”
Exegol, founded in September 2025 by survivors of the fallen nation of Khalkedonia, is a constitutional council republic run by a five-member council, with a chancellor elected every two months. The other seats are filled whenever a member resigns or leaves, which officials say has kept the process “very active.”
The new door, a four-panel design in polished stone, allows a councillor to resign, exit, be reinstated and re-enter in a single smooth motion. Engineers say the record so far is eleven seconds.
Officials stressed that the chamber’s round table was chosen for its symbolism of equality and not “so nobody can tell who’s missing.” They also denied reports that the seats had been fitted with name tags written in erasable chalk.
“People focus on the departures, but look at the returns,” said one citizen. “One of the founders resigned in January and came back in June. In most countries that would be a scandal. In Exegol that’s called a full term.”
Elsewhere in the capital, life continues as normal. Exodus remains the largest trenched city in Karydia, and residents say the trench, which took 38 days to dig in 2025, is still the most stable thing in the republic. “It has never resigned once,” said one resident proudly.
At press time, the door was reported to be spinning on its own.
