Fempire Union Unveils Factory That Turns Men Into Women; Line Outside Now Longer Than The Server Login Queue

Mosskow, Impendia—The Fempire Union on Thursday unveiled the server’s newest factory, a FactoryMod design that officials say converts men into women at a rate of one per recipe. Within an hour, the line of volunteers outside stretched past the edge of the island. Several players said they had spent less time waiting to log into CivMC.
The factory, officially the People’s Femme Works No. 1, was built on the outskirts of the capital, Mosskow, and approved under Democratic Centralism after Chairman Jindosh and the Central Committee put the proposal to the proletariat. “The vote was unanimous,” said a committee member. “Several comrades voted twice. They were not reprimanded.”
Like every factory on CivMC, it is built from a furnace, a crafting table and a chest, and started by hitting the furnace with a stick. Engineers describe the process as simple. “The man goes in the chest,” said one, demonstrating with a stick. “You select the recipe, you click the furnace, and a short while later a woman comes out. The charcoal costs are very reasonable.”
Officials stressed that participation is entirely voluntary. Applicants must first pass the same short interview required of anyone joining the Fempire, followed by a second interview about which skin they would like. “We have turned nobody away,” said an interviewer. “We have turned some people around, because they were facing the wrong way in the line.”
The factory got off to an uneven start. On its first day, a technician left the “Toggle auto select” setting on. The machine began automatically running both the Make Woman recipe and its own repair recipe, which also happened to output a man. The factory then cycled one volunteer back and forth for forty minutes until the charcoal ran out. “She says she’s fine,” said the technician. “She says she has never felt more sure.”
Factory health, which on CivMC decays by 7 points every in-game day, has been holding up well. Engineers say this is because the machine “has never been happier.”
Reaction across the server was swift. Chiraq accused the Fempire of “draining the server’s manpower.” Fempire officials replied that every graduate is still fully able to fight, “and better dressed.” Several Chiraqi fighters were later seen in the line. Icenia, preoccupied with reviving Rhode Island, asked whether the factory could also do pearls.
Not everyone is convinced the factory works. “I went in, I came out, and honestly I was already like this,” said one graduate. “But the certificate is lovely, and the committee threw me a party.”
The Central Committee says it is already planning a Five-Year Plan for a second factory, pending charcoal.
At press time, the factory had been upgraded twice and fitted with a compactor, which officials say can now process eight men at once, provided they all have the same enchantments.
